Statement of Purpose/Summary of Major Essential Functions:
The CCO has direct authority, responsibility and accountability for the nursing department. Responsible to develop department goals, objectives, standards of care and performance, policies and procedures. The CCO participates with leaders from the governing board, management, medical staff and clinical areas in planning, promoting and conducting organization wide performance-improvement activities.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduate of a School of Nursing,
Bachelors Degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or clinical specialty.
Master?s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or clinical specialty preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may substitute for education requirements. Minimum of five years experience in healthcare administration/management with a minimum of two years? experience in hospital management in an inpatient, acute care environment.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Registered Nurse in the state.
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification preferred
