Client Support Specialist

Chamberlin Edmonds works as an augmentation to existing hospital staff to assist uninsured patients through the difficult processes of applying for medical assistance.  Chamberlin Edmonds relieves patients and hospital staff from the confusion and frustration of the application process. 

 

Client Support Specialists are responsible for providing high-quality client focused service by using extensive knowledge of state and federal programs to resolve pending claims.

 

This exciting position is based in an area hospital and the duties include:

 

-Receiving and responding to incoming calls from agencies, patients and staff members for information

-Resolving claims by identifying and taking appropriate actions (call caseworker, obtain verifications, research, etc)

-Completing applications, by hand and on computer, for state and federal programs

-Receive and process mail from patients, agencies, etc

-Providing updates and assistance to hospital personnel and other staff as needed

-Assisting our hospital representatives with other follow-up issues as needed 

-Maintaining documentation in both hospital computer and company database

-Inputting and updating claim information into computer database 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

-Associates Degree; 4-year degree or some college preferred

-Bilingual (Spanish) helpful

-Knowledge of State Medicaid (CICP, CHS, CHP+, etc) and/or SSA/SSI disability application processes and programs required

-Previous hospital experience in Financial Counseling or Admissions desirable

-Previous case management experience a plus

-Previous experience at SSA or CDHS helpful

-Ability to apply knowledge of state/federal programs to benefit coverage for the patient

-Reliable transportation

-Demonstrated experience working with people of various educational and socioeconomic backgrounds (Health care setting preferred)

-Computer skills, including word processing, data entry, required (MS Office, Excel preferred)

-Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
