Consultant

JOB SUMMARY: Leads and participates as a consultant in a variety of strategic projects/initiatives in the Rocky Mountain Division. Works closely with managers, physicians, senior leadership and other clients to redesign processes to ensure quality and service are functioning in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Formulates strategies and recommendations for internal clients using a variety of management and analytical tools. Accountable for creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of and assures departmental compliance with Kaiser Permanente?s Principles of Responsibility and policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Responds appropriately to observed fraud or abuse.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in business/ health administration, industrial engineering or related field with an emphasis in finance, cost benefit or statistical analyses and three to five years progressive experience in project management, quality improvement processes, data analysis (including cost-benefit, workload measurement and staffing). OR
Master?s degree in business/ health administration, industrial engineering or related field with an emphasis in finance, cost benefit or statistical analyses and two to four years progressive experience in project management, quality improvement processes, data analysis (including cost-benefit, workload measurement and staffing).
Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization as a consultant in conducting, presenting and implementing strategic projects.
Proficient in team building, conflict resolution, facilitation, and decision support aspects of consulting.
This position may be filled at a higher grade, provided the candidate possesses appropriate qualifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Facilitates strategic and specialty redesign processes by working with internal clients throughout the Division to ensure that the most efficient and cost-effective quality and service process flows result.
Formulates project implementation and communications plans and helps clients implement the plans.
Conducts cost-benefit and decision or modeling analyses for the Division. Furthermore, assists managers in learning and using decision tools for less complex projects.
Develops staffing models for the Division by assessing organizational performance and identifying performance improvement opportunities.
Identifies industry trends, conducts research and benchmarks with other health care organizations to understand key issues and applies them to Kaiser Permanente.
Works with and manages outside consultants on projects.
Maintain current information and knowledge of all applicable Kaiser policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.
Ensures that the training activities incorporate all applicable KP policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.
Supervises assigned staff. This includes interviewing, selecting, training, motivating, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and terminating in compliance with EEO/AA goals and personnel policies of the organization.

SCHEDULE:  Monday-Friday 8:30a.m.-5:15p.m.
