DIR, WORKERS COMP & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH

The Director of Workers Compensation and Occupational Health will provide the strategic vision and leadership in the growth and management of Mercy Medical Group clinical services.

As Director, will work with key physicians and business leaders in Mercy Medical Group to establish a business development plan, develop marketing and service strategies that will lead to a consistent delivery of excellence of Workers Compensation and Occupational Health.

Under the direction of the Administrator, Downtown, the incumbent ensures that employees are valued, given an equal opportunity to succeed in an atmosphere of inclusion where there is good listening, communication, fairness and accountability. The Director creates an environment that responds quickly to employee concerns, proactively engages employees in problem solving, and works with site administration to create a positive and patient focused work environment.

The Director has significant interaction with insurance companies and business customers ensuring that services are delivered within the rules and guidelines of the State of California workers' compensation system. Director ensures services are effective, meets all regulatory requirements, and provides patients with quality health care utilizing appropriate staff resources.

The Director will be results oriented and demonstrate excellent business development and marketing skills and a proven track record of developing relationships with both existing and new clients.

The Director will have a peer relationship and interface with the Manager Business Health, Occupational Health CHW Greater Sacramento. Together, they shall be accountable for a coordinated and consistent approach to meet the needs of corporate customers by providing a full spectrum of comprehensive occupational health services that span the continuum form education and prevention, through medical treatment and rehabilitation, in the most efficient and cost effective manner.

Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years management experience in a Workers' Compensation
and/or Occupational Healthcare environment with a demonstrated ability to deliver
superior results in marketing, customer service, and employee operations.

Skills:

1. Demonstrated general understanding of all medical office operations, systems, and processes (front office, telephone systems, back office, support department).

2. Demonstrated understanding of the California workers' compensation system including specific regulations related to provision of occupational medicine services.

3. Demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve goals.

4. Demonstrated ability to lead others in difficult situations.

5. Strong problem solving skills, ability to manage project tasks, timelines, and analytical ability.

6. Ability to work with and communicate to a diverse work force in all levels of the organization.

7. Strong communication and leadership abilities.

8. Must be able to adapt easily to change and lead others in a team environment.

9. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

10. Knowledgeable and able to apply skills to the following computer applications: Microsoft Office and Outlook, IDX, Elysium and Medquest transcriptions.
