Develops and manages the Global Fleet Management strategy for Johnson Controls, Inc.  Directs a staff in the management of all company owned and leased vehicles and other fleet/transportation activities in a cost effective manner to obtain profitable expectations. 


 


PRINCIPAL DUTIES:


1.  Determines and develops the current and future strategy to select the best transportation modes, carriers, and service management at the right cost.


2.  Develops, updates, and manages the transportation business plan, forecast and budget.


3.  Creates the fleet management policies and vision.


4.  Coordinates vehicle and executive’s allocation of vehicles


5.  Conducts company wide rate analysis and negotiations, tariff and classification reviews, invoice audits and claim reviews.


6.  Manages carrier consolidation process and core carrier group selections.


7.  Analyzes and projects the Company’s future transportation needs.


8.  Accountable for cost containment of the transportation/fleet.


9.  Responsible for staff management, training, reviews and advancements.


10.  Translates strategic and program goals to specific financial impacts.  Creates and presents organizational financial models and gains buy-in on financial targets.


11.  Manages a team of fleet professionals to create multiple strategic initiatives and programs.  Establishes and leads cross-functional teams in the implementation and execution of the business strategy.


12.  Monitors customer service satisfaction of the entire Fleet Management organization.


13.  Performs other duties as required



Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.  MBA preferred.  Minimum of 10 years of industry related experience including fleet management.  Strong background in financial analysis required.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.  Demonstrated leadership ability with capacity to coordinate the work of others and lead team efforts
