Director of Materials Management

We are currently looking for a Director of Materials Management to join our team. The duties of this position include:

? supervising and directing the activities of all personnel performing materials management functions.

? directing the product and purchased services review process for decision making in supply acquisition and utilization decisions.

? managing purchasing contract compliance function.

? monitoring monthly reporting of performance against standards and budgets; reconciling variances on a monthly basis.

? developing an annual departmental business plan and supporting budgets.

? controlling capital equipment transfers among departments and disposals from the facility.

? controlling inventory levels both in the general storeroom and Central Service.

? contributing input to the DCHS Supply Chain Management program, including regular participation in contract processes and recommendations corporation-wide. 

? assisting in developing the DCHS Materials Mgt. Information and Supply Chain Mgt. Systems to be used.

? supporting the needs of clinical staff in providing consistent and cost effective supply chain management as well as providing guidance to staff in their efforts to meet their expense targets.

? supporting the Central Service Manager, in providing guidance in Central Service sterile processing efforts to meet the needs of the Surgical Services and for all the facilities departments through the Director?s background experience.

? Overall responsibility and management for the Buyers within Seton Medical Center and Seton Coastside by application of all applicable Seton and DCHS Corporate Materials Management Policies.

 

The ideal candidate shall have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field; 5+ years experience as a Director of Materials Management; proven leadership, managerial and facilitation skills; experience with central services, including sterile processing; knowledge of Title 22, OSHA, CalOSHA and JCAHO.
