Financial Analyst

 

Group Health Incorporated (GHI) is a statewide not-for-profit health insurer serving New Yorkers since 1937. GHI and its subsidiary GHI HMO provide health insurance and administrative services to more than 2.5 million individuals. GHI offers customers a variety of medical, hospital, dental, prescription drug, vision, and managed mental health coverage options, as well as administrative -services-only arrangements.

 

We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst to assist in documenting financial analysis, reporting and projects while developing formats, reports and report packages for executive management reporting process.  Responsibilities also include gathering and organizing statistical data from functional areas throughout GHI and preparing monthly executive management reports, incorporating data into monthly board presentations. And preparing presentations as needed.  Additionally, you will assist in compiling operational statistics and developing graphic depictions for quarterly operating metrics reports, developing and maintaining a filing system for storing support detail for reporting mechanisms and assisting in analyses and financial reviews as required.

 

To qualify, you must have a B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with a minimum of two years experience in accounting, corporate reporting or financial analysis.  Healthcare experience is preferred.  Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management a plus.  You must have excellent presentation, analytical and problem solving skills with outstanding communication skills (written and verbal). Strong interpersonal skills while multi-tasking required in this highly visible role.
