APPLICANT MUST BE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

Licensed Physician

Licensed Social Worker

Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator

Licensed Physical Therapist

Registered Nurse

 

OR,

 

HAVE A MINIMUM:

3 years Health Service Administration Experience, in Home Health, Nursing Facility, Hospital, or other Medically-related field, AND

A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or Medically-related field

SUMMARY:

The Administrator is responsible for overall management of the hospice. Keeping in mind the program's goals of quality patient care and judicious use of resources, the Administrator must coordinate all aspects of the program into a smoothly functioning organization dedicated to excellence in care and support of the dying patient and their family.



RELATIONSHIPS:

The Administrator reports to the President of the company. The Administrator directly supervises the following positions: Education Coordinator, Assistant Administrator, Director of Nursing Care, Accounts Receivable, Director of Compliance, Business Development Specialists, and the Administrative Assistant. The Administrator must also coordinate activities and services with the agency's Medical Director.



POSITION CONDITIONS:

- High level of community visibility, especially with other health care providers and with the various local agencies and organizations.

- Some supervisory work outside of normal business hours required.

- Some contact with patient/families with some risk of exposure to communicable diseases.

- Excellent problem solving skills necessary.

- Excellent listening and communicating skills necessary.

- Excellent team-building skills.



QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelors Degree in Business or Healthcare related field required.

- Three years of hospice experience preferred.

- Three years of administrative/management experience required.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for the overall functioning of the hospice program.

- Ensures that all program activities meet local, state, and federal requirements.

- Ensures that all activities are conducted according to the standards, policies, and procedures set by the hospice.

- Ensures appropriate staff supervison during all service hours.

- Ensures collaboration with agencies and vendors for effective management of services.

- Responsible for organizing, directing and implementing the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program.

- Responsible for timely and accurate information submitting of claims to proper funding sources.

- Responsible for submitting timely and accurate reports as requested by the President.

- Assists the President in strategic planning for program development.

- Assists the President in budgeting activity.

- Responsible for negotiating, supervising and evaluating contracts with outside agencies or services.

- All other duties as assigned.
