Insurance Representative

This position is responsible for performing analysis of patient account balances to ensure that all elements of the account are accurate including: payment, contractual adjustment and responsible party liability. Review hospital system to determine if payment and contractual transaction exist; determine the correct expected payment and/or contractual adjustment; verify payment and contractual adjustment are accurate by reviewing payer contracts for incorrect payments and adjustments; determine the appropriate payment and adjustment; move accounts to appropriate work lists to be adjusted.

Minimum Requirements: Knowledge of insurance follow-up process; proficiency in understanding and applying contract payment terms and conditions to patient accounts; knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding; ability to move between our systems and hospital systems; strong documentation and follow through skills; strong analytical skills (i.e. effective coverage periods, types of plans, etc.); ability to manager 65+ accounts per day. Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
