The company has achieved record enrollment each of the past five years, adding more than 400,000 members since 2001.? This company is seeking an experienced professional to work as its Large Group Sales Director, Community Accounts.? This position is located in Eagan, Minnesota.

????? Job Overview

????? The responsibility of the Large Group Sales Director is to drive growth in the 51+ mid-size market for the Community Accounts sales team. Will manage the overall sales and account management activity for this important business segment of the company.This person will direct the sales team in building and maintaining strong relationships with the company?s independent agents and our employer accounts.The director is also responsible for working directly with Marketing, Underwriting and Operations to ensure product, pricing and services meet the needs of mid-size employers. Two sales managers report directly to this position. The director reports to the Vice President of Community Accounts.

Job Description

?Directs the preparation and implementation of statewide sales and retention strategy for the Large Group sales management team.? Ensures that Large Group needs and product requirements are met.? Oversees proper servicing of these accounts to ensure satisfaction and maximum sale and retention of business. Works closely with the Sales Director of Service Cooperative business to ensure coordination of prospects and current clients fit for large group business. Also works closely with CCStpa sales management to grow and coordinate sales opportunities in the mid-size market segment.Collaborate with internal and external business partners to ensure large group sales plans and market segment plans are followed for the 51+ market.Working closely with the Vice President of Community Accounts and Large Group sales management ensures that large group sales goals are achieved. Oversee the allocation of sales goals on an annual basis.Capitalize on ancillary sales opportunities in the large group market. This includes working closely with affiliated companies. It is expected that this position be available for internal strategy development at the executive level and interact routinely with executive staff. This would include work on internal committees related to 51+ large group business.Monitor agent/agency development plans. Ensure sales management focus is on earning a larger share of key agent?s books of business.Assist the Vice President of Community Accounts on agent/agency compensation strategies for the large group market segment.

Qualifications

?State licensure to sell health and life insurance products.5+ years of sales management experience in the group health insurance industry.Established credible relationships with agents and consultants.Familiarity with health plan product features, networks, underwriting principles, sales cycles, claims trends and other business drivers of sales and account retention.Demonstrated strong communication and diplomacy skills. Demonstrated project leadership and cross-functional team facilitation skills.Demonstrated depth of problem solving and management experience across functional areas.Major strength in process innovation and performance improvement approach.Some travel throughout Minnesota.Ability to motivate and mentor sales management team. A proven track record of driving strategic sales plans in the large group market.Excellent communication skills required, including written, oral and presentation skills.Keen understanding of local competition.
