If you have progressed as far as possible in the Management field of Hospital Patient Accounting, consider growing in another direction which would utilize the experience and expertise you have already developed.
We convert uninsured patient?s potential bad debt to cash by interviewing, screening and helping self-pay patients to properly enroll for appropriate entitlement programs and related sources to cover their existing and future medical bills.
Oversees the accounts receivable process including Medicaid billing, denial management and self-pay collections to ensure adherence to standards and performance goals. Troubleshoots operations and makes appropriate recommendations for performance improvement. Provides procedural direction and training to all staff members. Manages staff, including interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, training and performance evaluations. Assists in setting budgets, establishing reserves, approving expenditures and monitoring bad debt and adjustments. Analyzes accounts receivable to identify payer issues. Develops and monitors policies and procedures. Analyzes cash results and progress. Reviews accounts receivable greater than 60 days, and assists in implementation of plan to keep receivables over 60 day to less than 25%. Maintains strong levels of motivation and leadership in the department, effectively communicating a constant high level of urgency. Ensures that cash is posted to invoice level within 48 hours of receipt. Acts as an active member of the revenue cycle process improvement team.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of management experience in patient financial services setting required, with proven results. CPAT and/or CPAM preferred. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Candidate should have extensive experience with denials management for all payers, especially Medical Assistance payers. Additionally, candidate should be experienced in the set up and operation of self-pay early out programs.
This position requires the Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents; Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community; Ability to effectively present information to top management and/or public groups; Ability to effectively multi-task, along with Strong oral and written communication, management, leadership and customer service skills.
