Job Description



Busy Plastic Surgeon's Office located in St. Charles, IL seeking experienced Medical Coder/Reimbursement Specialist.  Qualified Candidate must have detailed knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding, and understanding of Medicare's billing guidelines.  Plastic Surgery experience a plus.  Responsible for management of self pay accounts, insurance billing and resolution of issues related to denial or delay of reimbursement. 

 

The Patient Account Coordinator interacts with patients, other financial coordinators, the physician, practice manager and insurance companies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Answering phones Scheduling appointments Maintaining medical office records Assist in making payment arrangements with self-pay and cosmetic patients Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits Performing all daily, weekly, monthly and year end functions of billing and collections.  Managing patient accounts, arranging prior authorization as needed, preparing pre-determination coverage letters, assist patients in completing loan program applications

 

Requirements for this position include: completion of high school or equivalent, the ability to type accurately and proficiently, knowledge of medical terminology and a pleasant personality to interact with patients, computer literacy, knowledge of accounting and a minimum of one year experience in front office billing and collections in a medical office.
