Medicare Marketing Account Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medicare Marketing Account Manager is responsible for working in the field and coordinating, supervising and implementing strategies related to AMERIVANTAGE enrollment in a specific assigned territory through various sales and marketing initiatives, including face-to-face sales enrollment meetings, presentations, community and provider education sessions and social service outreach to existing and potential members.
The Account Manager develops and maintains new contacts and/or partnerships in the community and leads, manages and implements strategies within a specific territory. This individual is also responsible for developing and/or reviewing the strategies for any field representatives assigned to the territory. The Account Manager is responsible for growing membership through educating and servicing the Medicare population; including meeting the communities need for ongoing educational and social service outreach to existing and potential members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for coordinating, supervising and implementing strategies in an assigned territory and growing membership through face-to-face sales enrollment meetings, presentations, community and provider education sessions and social service outreach to existing and potential members.
2. Performs marketing analysis in order to develop focus areas within an assigned territory.
3. Develops and maintains new contacts and/or partnerships in the community.
4. Leads, manages and implements strategies in a assigned territory.
5. Developing and/or reviewing strategies of field representatives assigned to the territory.
6. Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with the AGP member population for the primary purpose of increasing enrollment.
7. Conducts presentations and performs other activities in an effort to gain members and maintain and/or established positive relationships with providers, community and faith based organizations.
8. Conducts healthcare presentations and program education sessions as needed.
9. Develops and maintains new and existing business relationships.
10. Participates on Boards and/or committees of significant community organizations to support AGP.
11. Staff marketing events and exhibits as needed.
12. Identifies and enlists the cooperation of individuals, groups, social service agencies and other community organizations in educational and outreach activities.
13. Develops any special program initiatives and all the accompanying activities.
14. Supports health and wellness education activities, referral of members to health education programs.
15. Acts as a viable resource to the membership and the community as needed.
16. Identifies cultural issues regarding current and potential members; communicate those issues and concerns to management immediately.
17. Work with management to develop territories and appropriate budgetary goals and guidelines to meet health plan objectives.
18. Tracks and trends membership and market growth trends according to department guidelines.
19. Meets and/or exceeds department service standards.
20. Helps and possibly coordinates training of new reps in field activities when they are hired.
21. Provides strategic leadership in area of expertise.
22. All other professional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Education
Required:
Preferred: BS/BA degree
Years and Type of Experience
Required: 3 yrs experience in managed care / healthcare or sales / marketing environment, if highest education level is High School.
Preferred: Customer Service experience in a managed care or health care environment.
Specific Technical Skills
Required:
Preferred: Experience working with Excel and Word
Certifications or Licensure
Required: Life and Health Producer?s license issued by the State of Maryland required (must have a valid license prior to the first day of employment);
Required: Must possess a valid driver?s license and have access to a motor vehicle
Required: Must possess valid motor vehicle insurance.
Knowledge and Skills:
? Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision;
? Medicare program knowledge required;
? Medicaid and CHIP program knowledge desired;
? Excellent verbal and written communications skills; bilingual a plus (Spanish-English) ;
? Strong organizational and follow up skills required;
? Experience working with word and excel;
? Must exhibit sensitivity towards the target population;
? Must be creative, innovative and have excellent interpersonal skills; and
? Must be self-oriented, flexible, enthusiastic and energetic.
