Partners Healthcare System Inc. has an opening for a strategic thinker in our Network Contracting group. This group is responsible for developing, negotiating and managing contracts with health insurers on behalf of the hospital- and community-based physicians in the Partners Healthcare System (PHS).

PHS contracting work involves:
- Development of key payer strategy questions for this large integrated delivery system
- Framing discussion of these questions throughout the system, including at the highest levels of the organization
- Development of negotiation strategy and tactics based on the outcome of these discussions
- Conduct of negotiations to implement the strategy
- Management of payer relationships once contracts are completed

Contracting Managers are expected to organize and lead the contracting process for assigned payers. This may involve overseeing the preparation of materials for key network committees; collaboration with Contract Finance staff to generate analysis of key questions and to present results; managing the process of developing negotiating positions and the negotiations themselves; and overseeing the account relations with payers.

A Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree strongly preferred. Candidates should have at least 4 to 6 years of progressively responsible, related experience in a complex healthcare environment.
