PFS Registration Mgr

Overview : This position will oversee both the Inpatient and Outpatient Admitting areas at Banner Baywood Medical Center.

Responsibilities :

Ensures maximum employee and departmental performance by conducting ongoing analysis of department and employee productivity, utilizing available statistical standards and providing appropriate training and developmental opportunities. Ensures timely and accurate patient registrations by monitoring and developing the subordinate staff to provide the highest level of service and performance. Maintains ongoing positive communications with patients, staff, physicians and other third parties to provide information or resolve issues. Maximize cash flow by maintaining and monitoring the protocols and activities associated with the financial management of the patient account, including up-front cash collections. Develops, maintains and adheres to the annual departmental budget. Prepares departmental schedule to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times while remaining within budget guidelines. Provides opportunities for strategic departmental improvements and communicates suggestions to the appropriate supervisory and management staff within System Patient Financial Services and other various departments at the facilities and the System Center.

Qualifications :

Requires three years supervisory experience coupled with hospital registration experience. Incumbent must possess a Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in a medical or business office setting. Incumbent must have thorough knowledge, as well as experience in admitting, insurance verification, collections, reimbursement, and managed care plans. Incumbent should have excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills and possess proficient computer skills. Incumbent must have the ability to plan and direct the work of others and the knowledge of facility resources. Incumbent must be multi-task oriented and be able to work well in a stressful environment. Incumbent must possess strong human relations skills with the ability to persuade others. Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with the public are required.
