Job Posting Description
40 hr/week opportunity for a Patient Care Coordinator for the Preadmission Screening programs. Primary responsibilities include: Providing daily operational support of administrative staff in scheduling and authorization areas to ensure timely and appropriate approval of payment for hospital services; Working closely with referring and specialty physician offices, case management staff in the hospital, community, and third party payers to determine appropriate level of care, length of stay and benefit coverage for scheduled admissions; Participating in training and development of staff in Patient Financial Services areas to support understanding of health care delivery system.

Knowledge of utilization management principles and criteria sets, excellent written and verbal communication skills and negotiation skills required, as well as strong pediatric nursing experience in multiple settings.

BSN required; Master's preferred. Minimum 5 years experience in healthcare delivery systems. Expertise in payer case management systems a plus.
