Job Summary:

Candidate to understand business needs and/or problems to assist in completing activities related to various cross-functional projects in support of operational goals within the configuration department. 

 

Essential Functions:

Manage a variety of moderately complex project activities.  Assist in all phases of project management: project planning, implementation and monitoring results.  Technical resource for converting moderately complex business issues into viable solutions through documentation and analytical sessions with matrix partners.Assist in maintaining all project related materials (e.g. action plans, tracking tools)Represent director and staff in various task forces/committees.Coordinate project activity and facilitate project meetings with staff and matrix partners.Provide technical assistance and guidance to associates Staff director and associates on operational issues, process changes and activity statusAssist in the development and maintenance of various policies and procedures effecting the operations of the department

 

Additional Duties:

 Identify opportunities to improve department results, communications and operating efficienciesParticipate in cross-functional departmental planning sessions Perform all other related duties as assigned by manager

 

Supervision Received/Exercised:

 General supervision through periodic checks on progress and methodology. 

 

Scope of Decisions:

 Exercises independent judgment and discretion in performing tasks.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

 

Education/Experience: (include any licenses or certifications required)Bachelors level education or equivalent directly related experience Five to seven years experience in the health care industry  Strong functional knowledge and broad multi-functional knowledge of healthcare deliveryDemonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks

 

Communication and Numeric Skills:Strong oral and written communication skills in order to present projects to small groups of upper management or direct users who may pose challenging or difficult questions.Proven financial and analytical skillsStrong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to influence internal and external resources

 

Computer Skills:Excellent knowledge of email systems such a Microsoft Outlook sufficient to communicate with both internal and external contacts.Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point sufficient to create documents complex in nature.Knowledge of project planning software sufficient to document project steps and report progress Strong Access skills

 

Physical Demands:Ability to communicate verbally both in person and on the telephoneAbility to use a computer keyboard and to view a computer monitorAbility to multitask.Ability to move around the office

 

Other:Ability to work under pressure  Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
