The region's top-rated health plan is seeking Sr. Underwriters to become critical members of the Large Group Underwriting team. In this position, you will conduct risk assessments on group cases, determine pricing and develop packaging. You will also interact with Sales in communicating and presenting information to clients.

Responsibilities include:Calculate fully insured renewal and prospect rates.Prepare basic self insured renewal and prospect rates.Prepare benefit alternatives.Present risk issues to Management.Understand Employer Reports.Participate in the streamlining of the underwriting process.

 

Candidates for this position will need to have a four year degree with an emphasis in Math and a minimum of five years of medical or group underwriting experience. This position interacts heavily with sales and sales management to negotiate contracts with potential and current clients. Candidates will need to possess the analytical skills as well as the people skills necessary to achieve profitable growth objectives.
