Strong Candidate For Director of HIM Striving For Success / RHIA
We are seeking a Director of Health Information Management to be a chief member of our Revenue Cycle Management Team. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating HIM initiatives and the HIM department operations for our client hospitals. As a key leader, you will work with clients to design work plans that capture improvement opportunities, leading to best practices for maximum success. It will be your responsibility to continually assess the HIM department?s systems and services to ensure the appropriate integration and coordination of services are provided to other departments.

Essential Job Functions ? what you will be doing:Assess current HIM operations from people, process and technology perspectivesIdentify revenue cycle improvement opportunities within HIMDesign work plans to capture improvement opportunities and to move department operations to industry ?best practices? (or preferably ?better than best? practices) Coordinate work groups to attain improvement opportunities, utilizing multi-disciplinary teams as necessary Provide regular reports to our Revenue Cycle Leadership team Continually assess the HIM department?s systems and services to ensure that appropriate integration and coordination of services are provided to other departments and customers while meeting financial and compliance goals

Positions require the ability to work out of Buffalo, NY; Nashville, TN; or Chicago, IL or Detroit, MI ? you will be provided with housing and travel expenses. Typically you will arrive on Monday morning with a Thursday evening Departure.
Required Experience: HIM Operations ?Expert? with the following qualifications Credentialed in HIM: RHIA preferred; RHIT with significant experience (at least 10 years) will be considered Education: Bachelor?s degree Must be willing to travel at least 4 days a week. Significant and recent experience as a Director of HIM in acute care hospitals (7 to 10 years) or significant and recent experience as a Consultant conducting HIM operational assessments or providing interim director services to acute care hospitals (at least 3 to 5 years)
