The Unit Assistant opening is in our Antepartum/Gynecology Unit that is part of our Women's and Children's Services Department at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital . This unit, located on the 5 th floor, north wing, features 8-private rooms and 4-semi-private rooms, operating on a 24/7 basis. Your Position

To fulfill this vital role as a Unit Assistant, you'll assist RNs and LPNs in providing assessment, administration, and coordinate care for postpartum and GYN surgical patients. Procedures on this unit include intravenous insertions, external fetal monitoring, amniocentesis, biophysical profiling, and the teaching of self-catherization.

As a newly hired Unit Assistant, you'll be precepted by unit-experienced staff and surrounded by a mentoring environment combined with an operational "what's best for the patient" attitude. You'll work alongside a talented and dedicated multidisciplinary team of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Unit Secretaries, and other Unit Assistants. Our unit offers a stable, supportive environment, and features self-scheduling in multi-week blocks where possible. Our Requirements

* Current Certified Nurse Aide licensure
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Preferred: 1 year experience in Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, or Mother and Baby, at a major, high volume hospital
