We have just the opening for you! Talbert Medical Group - a leader in providing excellent medical care in Orange and LA counties, is looking for experienced Medical Assistant at our downtown Long Beach medical center location.

 

As Medical Assistant I; primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Reviews patient medical records, interviews patients, measures vital signs, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height, and records information on patients' chart.Assists in maintaining organized filing systems and ensures that log books and tracking systems are updated and accurate in accordance with regional and center-based policies and procedures.Prepares treatment room for examination of patients, assists physician with procedures, cleans examination room and sterilizes appropriate equipment after use.  Maintains patient's dignity by protecting the patient's right to privacy, confidentiality and safety.Administers prescribed medication orally or by injection, following the 6 rights, after a physician, RN or LVN has verified the correct dosage and medication.  Documents time, dosage, and route on patient's chart. Performs electrocardiograph (EKG), pulse oximetry, inhalation treatments and operates other equipment.Follows the policy and procedure for the DKA process (when patients do not keep their appointment).Communicates to the front office and patients the status of the approximate provider wait time on an hourly basis.Schedules patients for routine diagnostic tests and appointments per policy and procedure.

Qualified candidates will have High School diploma, Medical Assistant certificate from recognized school, current CPR with minimum 2 + years of Medical Assistant experience; preferably in busy clinic environment, excellent organizational and patient care skills. Bilingual in Spanish and Cambodian preferred, electronic medical records experience a plus!
