LPN - Clinical Coding Auditor - SelectHealth

This position will coordinate and implement auditing of provider and facility billing practices, and claims based on specific issues addressed through Medical Review and the Coding Committee. The incumbent will be provider and facility expertise in the areas of CPT-4, ICD-9, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS, DRGS, APCS and other relevant coding, insurance reimbursement, compliance initiatives, regulatory legislation and billing.
Must be currently licensed in the State of Utah as a Licensed Practical NurseRegistered Nurse or be license eligible.
RN preferred.
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in auditing, coding and billing, of which 2-3 years auditing experience is preferred.
Coding certification(s) from a nationally recognized organization (e.g. American Academy of Professional Coders-AAPC or American Health Information Management Association - AHIMA).
In-depth knowledge of CPT-4, ICD-9-CM, HCPCS, Revenue codes, DRG's and APC's
In-depth knowledge of Relative Value Units, billing procedures, human anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, insurance regulations, compliance and adjudication of claims.
Broad knowledge of insurance plans.
Knowledge of and ability to use sound accounting practices in the adjudication of disputed claims.
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and Powerpoint applications. Internet research skills.
Excellent verbal, written, analytical and public presentation skills.
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with co-workers, physicians, and other health care providers.
Ability to perform job tasks independently and with minimal supervision.
Sound judgment and decision making skills.
This position is full-time, days, Monday through Friday and is officed at Intermountain's SelectHealth Division at Lake Park, West Valley City.
