You will provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Direct and oversee nurse assistants and collaborate with physicians and members of the multidisplinary team to achieve the highest standards of care, appropriate to the age of the patient. Work in accordance with hospital and Nursing Department's philosophy, the State Nursing Practice Act and other regulatory agencies. Assist in individualizing patients' plans of care and report patient outcomes to RN and other care providers

Ensure a secure patient environment by practicing with organization's and unit's procedures and standards of care

Respond appropriately to emergency situations; complete treatments, medication administration, IV therapy, and equipment use under supervision of RN

Promote patient's well-being, independence and ability to make decisions by teaching, counseling and reinforcing understanding of their disease, medications and self-care skills; document patient/family response to teaching

Practice safety and infection control measures; maintain equipment in clean/safe manner

Monitor patient care given by nurse assistants


Qualifications


Must have current LPN/LVN Licensure and a current BCLS
