Phlebotomist - First Hill

Perform routine venipuncture and coordinate daily collections and distribution of laboratory specimens.  Prepare and process paperwork associated with the specimens.  Receives orders for laboratory tests and follows through with accuracy.  Responsible for completion of equipment maintenance and function verification and for assuring that all records of this activity are complete in the assigned area.  Is required to know and follow all safety procedures and being able to responds appropriately to an emergency or drill.  Serves as primary laboratory representative to the patient and hospital staff.  Responsible for completing all assigned work with accuracy and promptly on schedule. Is directly responsible to her/ his immediate supervisor (s) and will carryout their directives and is expected to act in the best interests of patient care and LabCorp.

 

Requirements:  High school graduate or equivalent, completion of an approved phlebotomy training course, or equivalent experience through previous employment, one year preferred, at least 250 draws required. 

 

Experience in working with the public in the Health Care field and education with some science background a plus. 

 

Excellent interpersonal skills, organized, independent, computer literate, dependable, good attendance. Valid driver?s license, good driving record.

 

Hospital

16 hours per week

hours variable, primarily 2nd and 3rd shift
