Physician Substitute

 

DCI Biologicals has been operating within the plasmapheresis industry for over 30 years. Currently we have 27 plasma collection facilities and over 700 employees nationwide. The plasma we collect is used to make pharmaceuticals for the Health care industry by such organizations as, Bio Products Laboratory, Baxter and Cangne. The pharmaceutical products include treatments for hemophilia, immune disorders, and volume expanders for burn and trauma victims.

 

Must be a graduate of recognized educational program such as nursing (LPN, LVN, RN) or emergency medical technician (EMT, I_EMT, Paramedic) and currently licensed or certified in the state of New Mexico. The license MUST BE kept up to date.

 

Will be directly responsible to the Supervising Physician when working in the plasma center as the Physician Substitute. Donor safety, education, and welfare will be the primary consideration of the Physician Substitute through donor history  and physical examinations, informed consents, management of donor reactions, evaluation of laboratory results and immunizations. The Physician Substitute will follow all procedures in reference to the Medical Supervisor in the DCI-SOM and for determining whether these donors will have continued suitability in the plasmapheresis program. Supervises or performs immunizations of donors and initiates emergency medical procedures along with notifying the Supervising Physician as needed at the plasmapheresis facility.
