Automated Quality Assurance Tester

Vaco Technology has an immediate Contract Opportunity in Nashville, TN.
Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:

The candidate will be responsible for testing proprietary fixed income pricing applications. They must be capable of reviewing software applications objectively, work with Business Analysts and end-users to understand requirements and Developers to understand the impact of changes to assist debugging and enhancing applications as necessary.

The candidate must have good communication skills as they will be responsible for interviewing end-users and developers to formulate test plans and test cases. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the test plans and manual cases on an ongoing basis. The candidate must be capable of transforming manual test cases into functional test scripts with Mercury Quick Test Professional and WinRunner

Any job candidate will be responsible for assisting in ongoing general maintenance, technical support, developing user documentation, data backup and incremental software upgrades and implementation for QA tools including the Mercury Suite and Serena Tracking tools.

The candidate will be required to review functional requirements to asses their impact on the software applications and formulate tests cases.

The candidate must be well versed in Software QA concepts, practices and tools and will rely on their extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

The candidate must be capable of presenting regular progress reports, defect reports and test execution reports.


Skills:

*Experience with the Mercury Suite, including TestDirector, QuickTest Pro and WinRunner is required. Experience with implementing or administering the tools is preferred.
*Experience with using defect tracking tools is required. Experience with implementing or administering the tools is a preferred.
*Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to move easily between varied tasks.
*Experience in the Financial Industry is required while Fixed Income is preferred.
*Eight years of experience in the field of Software Quality Assurance.
*Experience working with DBMSs including Sybase and Oracle.
*SQL, UNIX, Microsoft office
