Full-time Second Shift Blood Bank Medical Technologist

This position offers a shift differential.

 

Nemours owns and operates the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE, as well as four major Children's specialty centers in Wilmington, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Pensacola.

 

The Alfred I. Dupont Hospital for Children, a nationally recognized pediatric hospital, is searching for a self-motivated, dedicated, full-time, second shift Blood Bank Medical Technologist. The responsibilities include performing patient and product testing, product preparation, problem solving, instrument maintenance, and other related duties.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONTo provide laborartory services by performing clinical laboratory procedures and related tasks. May review the work of lab assistant, clerks or others below the level of medical technologist.  Performs analytical procedures in the Clinical Laboratory. Receives and logs patient specimens, following laboratory policies about specimen statusing, accessioning, etc. Order, statuses and reports results of tests performed on patient specimens. Collects specimens from patients and others as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Four-year degree- BSMT, ASCP.

3-5 years experience working in a Blood Bank preferred.

Minimum of 1-2 years recent experience in a pediatric laboratory preferred.

Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.
