Laboratories NorthWest,is the provider of laboratory services for clinicians and patients throughout the MultiCare Health System, providing diagnostic lab services for Tacoma General Hospital, Allenmore Hospital, Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, MultiCare Clinics and Urgent Care Centers in Pierce, King, Kitsap, Thurston, and other counties in Western Washington.
In addition, Laboratories NorthWest is a referral center for diagnostic reference services for other hospitals, clinics, and laboratories that serve our communities.We serve the practice needs of over 300 independent clinicians every day.
Laboratory Regulatory Compliance Supervisor
Unique opportunity to manage life safety, regulatory compliance, and school affiliation programs for Laboratories NorthWest .
SAFETY: This position will set standards for, assists in implimentation, and direct a safe environment for staff, visitors and patients in all 25 laboratory locations. Will serve as Laboratory Safety Officer, chair the Laboratory Safety Committee, and represent the laboratories on various MultiCare Safety Committees. Conducts training on all system-wide general laboratory policies, such as Safety/Infection Control, Chemical Hygiene, and Emergency Preparedness. Responsible for writing, maintaining, and updating policies and procedures and communicating to staff. Provides the 1:1 orientation to new lab employees on Safety Policies and Procedures.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE: This position will also set standards for, assist in implementation, and direct and measure all activities related to ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for all lab locations. This will include monitoring updates/changes in requirements to (but not limited to) OSHA/WISHA, JACHO, CAP and DOE. Develops work and implementation plans for preparing staff for or refreshing knowledge on regulatory requirements. Will insure appropriate action on applicable product/equipment recalls, alerts and advisory notices. Develops plans and directs annual staff competency assessment program.
STUDENT/CLINICAL COORDINATION: Directs the clinical rotation programs for affiliated technical, community, and university programs. Will direct and set the standards for all designated preceptors, including training and development of work plans. Acts as a liaison to each of the affiliate institutions, and has direct line responsibility for all students, including completion of student progress assessments.
Requries MT (ASCP) or equivalant. Requirestwo years laboratory teaching experience or five years medical technologist experience. Experience with diagnostic laboratory instrumentation required.
