Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Medical Technologist is responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyses in hematology, blood bank, special chemistry, chemistry, and microbiology to provide information for diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Qualifications
Three years of college with courses in biology, chemistry, and mathematics, plus 1 year of internship.

Registered as a Medical Technologist by the Registry Board of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

In order to maintain position, associate must successfully complete a 3-6 month on-the-job training program provided by the hospital on identification of abnormal test results and interrelationships between various tests, operation of complex laboratory equipment, and departmental policies. The specific manuals and checklists included in the training program are available for review in the Laboratory.

Must be able to use a computer.
