MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST

 

Ochsner Health System, located along the banks of the Mississippi River in scenic New Orleans, is a non-profit, academic, multi-specialty, healthcare delivery system dedicated to patient care, research and education.  The system includes three acute care hospitals, a sub-acute facility, and 25 clinics located throughout Southeast Louisiana.  Ochsner employs over 7,000 employees, 600 physicians in 80 medical specialties and subspecialties and conducts over 750 ongoing clinical research trials annually.  Ochsner recently achieved Magnet nursing status, was named an ?Employer of Choice? in a national survey of hospitals, and was voted ?The Best Place to Work? by New Orleans? Ochsner is seeking a Medical Technologist to work in the Venipuncture Department.  Performs phlebotomy procedures following departmental protocol.  Assumes responsibility for completing personal annual competency testing, scheduling, etc.  Performs laboratory tests and calculations to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.  Performs quality control procedures and evaluates test performance and results. 

 

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor?s degree; ASCP registered or equivalent is required; current LA license or temporary LA license as Clinical Laboratory Scientist ?
