QA/ Safety Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:   Under the direction of the Medical Director and Laboratory Manager, the QA Analyst plans, develops and executes a comprehensive laboratory continuous quality improvement program; designs measurement and analysis systems demonstrating resultant error reduction and improved patient outcomes; serves as a departmental resource for quality and related regulatory requirements.  Other responsibilities include management of proficiency testing, review and compilation of incident reports and complaint data, creation and coordination of ongoing QA activities in order to satisfy CAP, JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements.  Responsible for successful inspections by regulatory agencies.  Helps to provide staff education at all sites.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor?s degree in Medical Technology (or related science) MT(ASCP or equivalent); previous position of leadership and responsibility within a large acute care laboratory environment; familiarity with CAP and JCAHO regulatory requirements, personnel accrediting processes, and QA activities needed to satisfy regulatory requirements.  Computer experience (Lab LIS; MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.); and excellent customer service skills.
