The USC Keck School of Medicine?s Medicine, Division, GI-Liver Department is seeking a Research Lab Technician to join its team.

Supervision and experiment coordination along with daily care for transgenic, knockout animals. Experience with Animal Surgery and Genotyping. Needs fundamental knowledge of cell culture and molecular biology including preparation of cell lines and primary hepatocyte cultures. Will conduct Molecular biology and cell biology experiments.

The candidate will care of transgenic/knockout animals, including breeding and genotyping. Conduct experiments in these animals. Care of cell lines, performing transfection studies using cell lines for analysis of promoter function. Examine mechanisms of apoptosis induced by certain agents using primary hepatocytes and cell lines. Must have working knowledge of HPLC and other lab equipment.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred in molecular biology or laboratory science; however, combined experience/education may substitute for minimum educati
