St. Joseph Hospital has been serving the health care needs of the Humboldt County community since 1920. We have 145 licensed beds and are a full service, acute care state-of-the-art facility, located just 250 miles north of San Francisco and 70 miles south of the Oregon border.
As the successful candidate, you will achieve the new net sales quota by targeting and calling on physicians, nursing homes, hospitals, home health, industry, and or other appropriate markets as defined by management and the overall laboratory strengths.
Reporting to the Director of Lab Services, you will:
? Develop and maintain target and prospect lists.
? Supply written sales reports, call reports and territory summaries to management as requested.
? Spearhead the full planning and implementation of all client needs for new and existing outreach accounts. To this end, you will:
➢Develop and execute pricing agreements in accordance with policy.
➢Work with the outreach department to ensure the client has all start-up supplies and that courier pick-up requirements are established.
➢Work with the outreach department to plan and implement:
?Client set-up forms, requisitions and supplies
?Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) support (computer, label printer, report printers, modems, etc.)
?Specialized test requests or service requirements
➢Ensure client training in:
?Patient Service Center (PSC) locations
? Specimen collection requirements
? Specimen processing
? Proper protocol for completing requisitions, including all required demographic and billing information
? Medicare medical necessity/ABN protocols
? Use of Remote Order Entry physician system
? Use of the Laboratory Directory of Tests and Services and other resource materials for the client
➢Work with the outreach department to provide the optimal match of client expectations and needs to the laboratory?s capabilities and services
Additionally, you will:
? Service existing accounts in a proactive manner to ensure customer retention by:
➢Visiting accounts on an ongoing basis to maintain good rapport with clients and develop opportunities to increase monthly volume/revenue by detailing tests and services.
➢Serving as a liaison between the client and the laboratory by communicating client problems/concerns to the laboratory management staff or other managers as appropriate.
➢Ensuring resolution of all client concerns about service, billing, equipment failures, etc.
➢Communicating potential delays or service problems to appropriate parties
➢Sharing a passion for excellence in service and strive for zero failures in client satisfaction.
As a key member of our Sales Team, you will:
? Meet new net sales, total territory quotas and other financial measures, such as profitability targets.
? Provide feedback on competitive activities. Including, but not limited to competitive PSC locations, phlebotomists in physician offices, pricing, new test offerings, new services, industry trends, etc.
? Maintain knowledge of outreach services, processing and transport requirements.
? Maintain confidentiality of all patient and client related information in accordance with HIPAA and system policies.
? Follow all compliance regulations and policies and report any non-compliant actions to the appropriate manager as outlined in the St Joseph Health System Compliance Program policies and procedures.
? Follow all safety regulations and operate according to good work practices.
? Report unsafe acts, conditions, accidents or injuries to management.
? Demonstrate reliability by:
?Following all system policies and procedures
?Demonstrating consistent attendance and punctuality at work and departmental meetings.
?Ensuring that work assignments are completed within agreed upon time frame.
? Operate company vehicle and be responsible for maintaining and servicing vehicle consistent with established policies and procedures. Maintain acceptable driving record and current driver?s license.
To qualify, candidates must have at least three years of sales experience, solid business acumen and a passion for success. You must also have a working knowledge of the sales and laboratory business environment, basic computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint), valid driver?s license with good driving record, and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Preferred candidates will also possess a Bachelor?s degree in Business or Laboratory Science.
