Senior Technologist - Laboratory Genetics

Baystate Health seeks a Senior Technologist in Laboratory Genetics. Working closely with the Manager and Medical Director, the incumbent will oversee the technical aspects of Laboratory Genetics including, wet lab product, dry lab activities and work flow, review and evaluate cases.  Develop, modify, maintain procedures, standards and manuals.  Assist with personnel actions, including coordination of assigned personnel and activities, maintain schedule.  Coordinate maintenance and service of equipment; maintain inventory of supplies; maintain records in a neat, orderly and efficient manner.  Assists with evaluation, development of recommendations for purchase of capital equipment and related items; budget preparation and monitoring; Charge Master Description maintenance and assure adherence to Compliance regulations.  Ensure compliance with JCAHO, CAP and other regulatory agencies, as required.

 

The requirements for this position include a broad knowledge of the discipline of Cytogenetics, an equivalent to a complete College or University education, CLSp (CG) NCA certification and experience as a Cytogenetics Technologist.  Supervisory experience preferred.
