Quest Diagnostics has excellent career opportunities for a Specimen Prep Techs at our Baltimore, MD location.  Specimen Prep Technicians prepare specimens for laboratory analysis by logging, sorting, and delivering the specimens to the appropriate technical departments.

 

The Specimen Prep Technician job is complex and requires good organization skills and ability to open, sort, process, aliquot and identify patient specimens after training.  Will train on the job! This position requires work in a fast-paced environment, while meeting and maintaining quality and production standards.

 

Additionally, great flexibility on the part of the SPT is required. Majority of SPT work is on the nightshift, but based on staffing needs, weekends, holidays, on call and overtime is a requirement.

 

Qualifications:

? High school diploma (or equivalent)Ability to maintain hand and eye coordination for long hoursKeyboarding skills a mustPrior experience working in a production environment where quotas were enforced - desiredPrevious experience working night shifts a plusAbility to sit or stand for long periods of time
