Cardinal Health, Pyxis Products, the market leader in healthcare drug & supply automation, is adding to staff and seeking an Account Specialist for the West Penn Allegheny Health System in Pittsburgh, PA. This position will co-manage the Pyxis Supply automated point of use system. Additionally, they will be required to provide base level system troubleshooting assisting with field escalation issues and in the resolution and documentation of the issue. 


Duties include:

Identify problems and coordinate tasks and field and customer resources to ensure appropriate planning and resolution.
Coordinate any necessary enhancement/upgrades.
Coordinate Field/Technical Support resources to assist in interface "go-lives" or conversions.
Act as a liaison between Hardware/ Software Engineers and Field Support.
Troubleshoot minor hardware, software, interface and communication problems.
Escalate product bugs, malfunctions, and design issues to engineering for resolution, while maintaining customer responsibility.
Participation in weekly staff meetings.


The Account Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the installation and ongoing servicing of our systems and is the primary customer contact for the life of the system.  This includes the following duties:

Develop project plan for expansion (using corporate guidelines), manage and track installation tasks and milestones.
Responsible for the configuration of various Supply products.
Coordinate entire installation process and phases.
Continually evaluate/monitor customer's satisfaction with systems.
Provide weekly updates in writing to the customer and Pyxis management.
Produce reports for each hospital to track pre and post metrics for standardizing automation processes.
Provide the customer with documentation on best practices for med and supply automation.



BS/BA degree in business, computer science or hospital administration or equivalent preferred. Must have experience with the governing factors that influence each type of AIS system implementation. Five plus years healthcare experience installing and supporting advanced computerized system applications. Full working knowledge and experience with hospital or other large system interfaces.

 

Training and teaching experience preferred. Hospital pharmacy management/automation, hospital administration, and/or information systems experience preferred. Strong management, presentation, planning and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. A self-starter who is able to work independently. Ability to handle multiple projects at one time. Knowledge of spreadsheet, work processing software, and project management software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to lift up to 70lbs. Requires considerable amount of pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and lifting.
