Healthcare Sector Specialists – Primary Research


 


Reuters is looking for Sector Specialists to help develop a new global research product targeted toward institutional investors and hedge fund managers.  The product will provide proprietary information and insights, based on primary sources, into factors driving investment in the healthcare sector.  The desired candidate should have either institutional investing experience and/or healthcare experience.  The candidate should have a reputation for originality and integrity, and the ability to succeed in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.


 


Job responsibilities include:


 

Specialist will work with Healthcare Sector Head to identify, procure and distribute industry specific data compiled from primary sources.
Help develop new and differentiating features for inclusion in the product.
Perform research on important industry topics such as changing market and regulatory dynamics.
Analyze and write investment-style reports for routine inclusion in research product and on an as-needed basis.
Initiate and maintain industry relationships through personal interactions.
Attend industry functions such as conferences and other meetings.


 


Qualifications:


 

At least 2 years of experience in any of the following areas; healthcare services sector (HMOs, hospitals, facilities, etc.), investment research and valuation, either in a buy side or sell side environment, or in a government or regulatory setting..
Exposure to one or a combination of the following:  sales and marketing, data collection, government relations, pricing and contracts.
Familiarity with basic tools such as Powerpoint, Excel and Word. Familiarity with market data and research platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Thomson and Factset a plus.
