Job Duties:
* Conducts in-depth investigation into clinical complaints including interpretation of clinical data provided. Generates comprehensive report to document investigations, the results and conclusions. Provides clinical support for the Consumer Affairs department to assure customer complaint investigations are complete and clinically accurate. Assists the Consumer Affairs Manager in defining Consumer Affairs processes related to complaint investigations and may assume some managerial responsibilities.

Primary Accountabilities:
* Conduct in-depth investigations which may include: data review, data analysis of information provided, follow up discussions with customers, review of labeling, training and/or review of clinical history for the site.
* Generate detailed clinical investigation reports that addresses the technical and clinical details related to clinical complaint. Maintain the ability to differentiate between product and non-product causes and to document rationale. Using clinical and technical expertise, ensure the report is written in a format that is readable and understandable to a non-clinical, non-technical reader.
* Ensure the procedures accurately support the needs of the investigation process.
* Maintain strong clinical knowledge of ophthalmologic conditions including refraction, general ocular disease, patient selection for laser refractive surgery and surgical technique.
* Maintain a working knowledge of QSR requirements specific to complaint investigation
* Generate and/or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to develop, maintain and improve the documented quality system.

Requirements:
* Doctor of Optometry- O.D.
* 10 years or more experience in Ophthalmology
* 2 years or more experience with laser refractive surgery
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to effectively translate technical and clinical issues into non-clinical terms
* Experience in generating comprehensive detailed reports
* Excellent interpersonal skills in listening and problem solving
* Managerial experience
