Staff Physician - Onsite

JOB SUMMARY:
Diagnosis and treats a variety of injuries in occupational clinic practice in accordance with Concentra occupational health medical protocols.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
' Examines or conducts tests on patient to provide information on medical condition.
' Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
' Analyzes reports and findings of tests and of examination, and diagnoses condition.
' Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent injury.
' Explains procedures and discusses test results on prescribed treatments with patients.
' Oversees maintenance of case histories, health examination reports, and other medical records.
' Formulates and administers health programs
' Works with Medical Director to ensure operations are consistent with medical policy and professional standards in occupational medicine and standards of Association and Concentra.
' Participates in the development, implementation and revision of policies affecting medical practice, judgment and quality of occupational health care.
' Assists in the development and presentation of instruction and education programs for physicians, nurses and other personnel employed by or associated with Concentra and/or employers.
' Submits periodic operational activity reports as requested.
' Assures compliance with licensing, certification and accrediting bodies.
' Represents Associations and Concentra as reasonably required at internal and external meetings.
' Meets with employers to discuss health and safety needs, and to conduct workplace walkthroughs and other on-site assessments.
' Regularly communicates with client representatives upon seeing employee patients for initial injuries and change of duty status.
' Provides guidance to other medical staff (i.e., physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and medical assistants) to ensure Concentra's mission is achieved.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
' Licensure requirements of the state of jurisdiction
' Medical degree from accredited university
' BC in Occupational Medicine or a Primary Care Specialty. Two years of experience in Occupational Medicine preferred.
