CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION SPECIALIST / RN / REGISTERED NURSE / NP / NURSE PRACTITIONER / PA

POSITION INFORMATION:

 Responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation through extensive interactions with physicians, nursing staff, patient care givers, and Medical Records staff to ensure that appropriate reimbursement is received for the level of services rendered to all patients;

 Ensure accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and medical center outcomes.; and

 Educate all members of the patient care team on an ongoing basis.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  REQUIRED:

 Oregon RN, NP, or PA license; and

 5 years recent clinical experience in a hospital setting, or 4 years recent clinical experience and 2 years ICD-9 Coding experience;

 

PREFERRED:

 BSN;

 Utilization Review or coding experience; and

 Knowledge of JCAHO regulations.
