Coding Analyst

For 30 years, we have partnered with the New Jersey healthcare community, providing doctors and hospitals with quality insurance, expert risk management guidance and first-rate legal representation.  To date, we proudly insure 18,000 physicians, facilities and other healthcare professionals in the Garden State.

 

We are seeking a Coding Analyst to review and analyze medical malpractice claims.  Responsibilities include: 

 Review claim files and medical records to code pertinent data using Harvard System coding taxonomy in combination with ICD9 classification. Create comprehensive narratives of the care provided in each case reviewed.  Identify the risk management issues related to the claim and care rendered. 

 

This position requires a Bachelors degree in Nursing or equivalent.  Certification in medical records management is a plus.  Must have strong clinical background in healthcare with extensive nursing and/or medical records experience, along with a solid knowledge of medical terminology, and a broad knowledge of healthcare organizations/providers.  Knowledge of clinical risk management, safety, regulatory requirements, and/or healthcare quality and accreditation functions is a plus.  Individual must have good oral and written communication skills, along with excellent analytical skills.  Ability to work independently, make good decision, have good time management and organizational skills.  Must be detailed oriented and have good computer skills.
