Compliance Medical Auditor
Description:
The Medical Auditor performs regulatory compliance reviews and compliance special request audits. The Medical Auditor also creates review programs, prepares and maintains review and audit work papers and develops or assists in the development of concise review and audit reports. The Medical Auditor may also perform special projects and investigations as directed by the Director or the Vice President Audit and Compliance.
Skills and Education:
BSN or Associates degree in nursing, HIM, or allied healthcare. RN or LPN preferred; however, will accept person with strong background in clinical support, coding, medical records or other similar experience.
3 to 5 years clinical/coding experience, with a minimum of 2 yrs clinical and/or coding or medical auditing experience.
Experience with and understanding of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, fiscal intermediaries, and carriers.
Knowledge and experience with CPT4, ICD-9, HCPCS coding, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Proficiency with computers and internet research.
