EMR Implementation Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The primary responsibility of the Implementation Manager is to execute and manage the implementation of an electronic medical records application in physician medical practices.  In performing this responsibility, the Implementation Manager will be assigned to multiple implementations simultaneously, which will be located in various locations throughout Eastern Massachusetts.  The Implementation Manager will report directly to the EMR Project Manager. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

? Independently manage, execute, and own overall Implementation plan and timelines for key deliverables;

? Lead and manage Implementation team to ensure timely and effective completion of Implementation assignment and other tasks;

? Direct implementations, serve as primary client contact on implementations and build strong relationships with practices;

? Establish clear definition of clients? implementation responsibilities and MACIPA?s responsibilities with each client;

? Establish a clear understanding of client?s key metrics prior to an EMR implementation and determine clear quantifiable expectations for the practice once fully implemented on the application;

? Perform general practice and workflow assessments of medical practices;

? Collaborate in the ongoing development of the implementation process;

? Organize and lead training sessions;

? Administer end user proficiency tests;

? Provide on site support during the ?go live? period;

? Collaborate with other MACIPA departments to ensure coordination and completion of all additional implementation related tasks;

? 60% to 80% local travel in Cambridge and surrounding towns;

? Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelor of Arts or Science degree required;

? 2 - 3 years of Implementation management experience;

? Willingness/comfort with 60% to 80% local travel and working off-site;

? Demonstrated Implementation management skills including the ability to plan a Implementation and operate within timeframe and budget;

? Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired results;

? Demonstrated ability to perform assessments and present findings to audiences of varying skill set and knowledge base;

? Healthcare and medical group operations or knowledge preferred or demonstrated ability to quickly learn a new industry;

? Understanding of physician practice operations;

? Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;

? Ability to keep track of numerous detail-intensive, interdependent tasks and ensure their accurate completion;

? Ability to train users with varying degrees of comfort with computer applications;

? Strong computer literacy and the comfort, ability and desire to advance technically.

Required of All Employees of the Information Systems Department: 

 

?  Skills necessary to obtain eClinicalWorks -certified trainer level knowledge and complete understanding of the latest version of the eClinicalWorks application;

?  Solid understanding of the implementation process and the various interdependencies between operations and technology both internal and external;

?  Solid mastery of training techniques and other client relationship skills;

?  High level understanding of the internet;

?  Proficient in the following Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word; proficiency with Powerpoint, Access, and Project; and an understanding of Visio;

?  Strong ability to identify potential issues and participate in their resolution;

?  Excellent problem solving and investigative skills;

?  Excellent organization and time management skills;
