HEALTHCARE: Medical Coder

Primary duties will include evaluating outpatient and/or inpatient cases to determine principal diagnosis and procedure, as well as pertinent additional diagnosis and procedure when required. A detailed knowledge of the ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding and classification system is required as is a working knowledge of medical terminology and its applications. The ability to read and comprehend coding publications and apply new knowledge to correct coding practices is key, as is the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians, faculty and staff. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision. CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT certification is preferredAll applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. Qualifications :
Qualified candidate must possess a minimum of 2+ years with hospital coding using the 3M Encoder, ICD-9-CM, and CPT-4 classification systems. Must have sufficient keyboard skills to effectively and efficiently enter data and navigate computer systems.
