The Physicians Interactive group of Allscripts is seeking a bright, energetic, and process driven Lead Database Analyst to join our team.
The mission of the Lead Database Analyst is to enhance decision-making throughout the physician participation in eMarketing events using rich and diverse data, deep customer information, and analytical and predictive modeling techniques, tools, and expertise. As a Lead Data Analyst you will play a critical role in leading, developing and managing high-impact analytical and predictive modeling initiatives in diverse offline and online marketing areas, as well as working with the Product Development team to design databases and reports. You will employ your end-to-end data mining skills, from data sourcing and transformations, to model building and model selection, to efficiently and effectively serve business needs and deliver successful outcomes for the business clients. You will report to the VP of Technology, and will work closely with other business groups and technology teams.
The ideal candidate must have proven experience in data analysis, database design, SQL programming, creating reports in MS SQL Reporting Services, as well as coordinating the work of other database team members. The candidate must have a superior knowledge of automated information systems, relational databases, Structured Query Language (SQL). Ability to program in Visual Basic and C# is ideal.
The candidate must have excellent organization and communication skills, as well as project management expertise in estimation, prioritization, and delegation. Ability and flexibility to get things done is a must!
Database Skills
*A comprehensive understanding of SQL Server 2000 and 2005.
*A thorough understanding of relational database design, data modeling, and stored procedures.
*Expert in writing optimized queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
*Tuning for performance of existing stored procedures and reports.
*Physical design and implementation of databases.
*Design of database architecture and implement stored procedures, triggers, and views for in-house applications integrated and Enterprise systems.
*Experience using Microsoft Access to create tables, run queries, and scrub data.
Responsibilities
*Conduct requirements analysis, data modeling, and logical design of relational databases to support e-marketing Internet applications.
*Analysis and management of recruiting data for eMarketing events such as clinical educational programs, web conferences, etc.
*Analysis and management of program participation data to eMarketing events.
*Analysis for comparing lists of participants against internal user tables, loading new participants to internal databases, and data scrubbing.
*Data mining based on client and internal needs/requirements.
*Plan and guide the migration of legacy databases to new re-designed database.
*Create reports using Microsoft SQL Reporting for eMarketing event participation, completion, incentive issuing, and financial reports.
*Convert manual/labor intensive data related processes to automated processes with standardized reports and will develop ad hoc queries to answer specific questions as required.
*Document processes concerning all aspects of database administration including enterprise standards, data modification procedures
*Implement database guidelines for junior DBA?s and new team members.
*Educate development staff on good practices in database design, stored procedure creation, SQL Server Architecture.
Project Management
*Develops estimates, human resource requirements, work plans, time schedules, and makes work assignments to meet objectives.
*Ability to manage projects, milestones, deadlines and delivering on time, given limited resources.
*Ability to coordinate work with junior resources.
*Out-of-the-box thinking to get projects done
Other Requirements
*Candidate must possess strong leadership skills.
*Previous experience supporting managaingmanaging a customer database, marketing data, and associated queries and analaysisanalysis is a plus
*Excellent written and verbal communications skills required to be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
*Ability to work in a fast paced team environment and meet deadlines.
Education
A Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline is required. Professional certification may be substituted.
