Medical Record Coders and Auditors for a rapidly growing healthcare consulting firm

California based consulting firm offers rewarding positions for knowledgeable coders to conduct IP, OP, ER, clinic and physician office medical record reviews at Northern and Southern California hospitals, clinics, Skilled Nursing and other facilities to determine accuracy and completeness of ICD-9-CM/CPT-4 coding.

 

The ideal candidate will have RHIT and CCS or CCS-P certifications, three years experience in-patient, out patient or emergency room coding, auditing, abstracting and chart review. RHIA and other AHIMA certifications are also desirable.

 

The typical schedule is working at client sites Tuesday through Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday.  While on site an auditor will review about 30 records daily and report code accuracy and DRG validation deficiencies.

 

Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology is necessary as is proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Access. Travel within California can be expected and successful passage of a coding test is required.
