We are actively seeking a swing shift Medical Transcriptionist.

Requires a High School diploma with 13-24 month?s specialized training in Medical Transcription or related field, and 3-5 years? medical transcription sub-speciality experience, or may have equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Must have excellent listening skills, advanced keyboarding skills with ability to keyboard 75+ wpm, strong proofreading skills, knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices, strong medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications and laboratory values, and in-depth/broad knowledge of specialties. Must have the ability to use designated professional reference materials, have a high level of concentration, be able to work under pressure and within time constraints and be able to work independently with minimal or no supervision. In addition, must be able to operate (and troubleshoot as necessary) word processing, dictation, transcription and other equipment as specified, understand and apply relevant legal concepts of documentation of patient care, have the ability to use independent judgment to make decisions and be able learn and apply organization/department policies/procedures. Medical Transcriptionist certification and extensive medical terminology in an acute care setting preferred.
