Senior Programmer Analyst

This is an excellent opportunity to work with one of the largest pharmacy benefits management (PBM) companies in the US. With more than 50 million members in the US and Canada, this company fills 400 million prescriptions per year, designs formulae, and offers such services as disease management programs and consumer drug data analysis. Their clients include HMO?s and other health insurers, self-insured businesses and union benefits plans. This company is seeking a strong professional to work as its Senior Programmer Analyst ? DB2.? This position is located in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Position Description:

????????? Evaluate user requests for new programs or complex modifications to existing programs.

????????? Perform research and gather relevant data to assist with determination of feasibility, cost and time required.

????????? Prepare detailed program specifications.

????????? Develop coding for computer programs, enter coding into existing systems, test and debug programs.

????????? Create programming documentation.

????????? Monitor ongoing program and system performance.

????????? May provide training or act as a mentor to less experienced team members.

Position Qualifications:

????????? 5+ years experience in applications programming, preferably 1-2 years at ESI.

????????? Thorough knowledge of programming concepts, design, procedures and practices.

????????? Excellent programming knowledge in UNIX, Informatica, C and SQL.

????????? Thorough knowledge of relational database concepts.

????????? Experience with Teradata, DB2 and/or other relational databases and utilities.

????????? Experience with large scale Data Warehouse and Reporting applications very helpful.

????????? Experience in multi-platform distributed environment.

????????? Experience with IBM Mainframe helpful but not required.

????????? Familiarity with health care or PBM industry very helpful.

????????? Excellent oral and written communication skills.

????????? Ability to handle complicated technical issues and communicate them with both technical and non-technical people.

????????? Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.

????????? Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet multiple project deadlines.

Education:
