Sr. Enterprise Operator
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world renowned organization dedicated to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research, and education.
Responsible to run and monitor batch work flows in a multi-platform environment using a variety of software tools installed at NJDC. Monitor and support the Network, Mainframe, UNIX and Mini-computer systems. Perform routine day-to-day Windows Server administration functions including Active Directory domain administration, file system security, network communications, disk storage, network printing, database and application support, and applying regular server patches and updates. Perform 1st level problem diagnosis and problem resolutions. Interact with the user community, vendors and support staff to document and update problem tickets. Perform off-site data protection procedures.
Associate Degree in Computer Science or 3-4 years related work experience. The candidate must have good written and oral communication skills, knowledge of MVS commands, working knowledge of an automated scheduling package (Control-M or Zeke, or CA 7/11), a working knowledge of UNIX, a solid understanding of TCP/IP and related technologies including (DHCP, DNS and WINS), experience with one of the following enterprise management products (HP Openview, or Tivoli, or TME and NetView). Solid Microsoft Windows Server platform experience preferably within a large high-availability data center environment is needed. A working knowledge of Intel-based Windows Server administration and knowledge of server backup/recovery methodologies is also desired. Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills are a must. This is a night position within a 24x7 operation. The shift schedule is an alternating 3 day (Thurs-Sat) / 4 day week (Wed - Sat) starting at 7PM. Some overtime is required.
