Position Description

The Statistician is responsible for advising and performing a wide array of statistical/analytical functions in support of assessments of the effectiveness of Health Dialog program and services.  The Statistician will have responsibility for assessing the statistical power of analytic plans and making recommendations for these plans to enable powerful experimental and quasi-experimental studies.  The Statistician will have responsibility for developing statistical models to predict impact of interventions.  The Statistician will develop and implement appropriate adjustment, matching, and other complex analytic procedures to employ quasi-experimental designs to assess program outcomes.  We are looking for excellent statistical, analytical, and planning skills, creativity, and excellent communication skills.  There are open positions in our Boston, Massachusetts, Manchester, New Hampshire and Portland, Maine offices.

 

Primary Responsibilities

?  Assessing and developing rigorous, clear and well-structured analytic plans

?  Developing statistical impact prediction models

?  Designing, programming, and documenting SAS code to analyze results of studies.

?  Employing appropriate statistical procedures to employ a range of quasi-experimental and experimental study designs

?  Structuring data displays to clearly communicate findings

?  Summarizing results in clear, succinct ways to enable use for senior level audiences internal and external to Health Dialog

 

Preferred Qualifications

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate statistical, analytical, SAS programming, and communication proficiency.  The following qualifications are desired:

?  2-5 years of business or academic experience performing statistics and data analytics on complex data. Number of years of experience is not as important as how those years have been used.

?  Ability to plan, design, and deploy rigorous statistical analytic approaches in a fast-paced business setting.

?  Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines

?  Ability to analyze and solve complex problems

?  Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible in taking on various projects

?  Strong attention to detail

?  Ability to communicate complex data analytics clearly in written and oral presentations

?  Ability to deal responsibly with confidential information

?  Experience with health care data analytics, particularly utilizing health claims data

?  Advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, epidemiology, or social sciences (with a concentration on statistics/analytics) 

?  Record of academic and/ or business achievement
